OM TALKS: A dialogue on artistic perspectives and finding common rhythms in art and dance

An Artist Talk organized in the form of a captivating debate brings to the forefront significant voices from the art and dance scene, both from Romania and internationally. Moderated by Cosmin Manolescu, as part of the OM Talks series, this debate gathers key figures from /SAC @ Malmaison in Bucharest—Alex Radu, Simona Dabija, and Ioana Marchidan—alongside Pierre Piton and Alex Landa Aguirreche from PP Company in Switzerland. Additionally, curator Ioana Olăhuț and visual artist Alexandru Rădvan will contribute their unique perspectives.

An essential part of the event will be dedicated to presenting the participating artists. Each will share their own artistic vision and how the festival's theme, Common Rhythm, is reflected in their work. The discussion will also explore methods to ensure that the diversity of voices and perspectives is not only accepted but celebrated and organically integrated into the structure of artistic events. What challenges are faced in this process, and how to overcome them?

13.10.2024 / 11:00 - 14:00 / Meron Gallery

The second day of the Artist Talk series, moderated by Cosmin Manolescu, brings together both local and international artists, including representatives from OM Centru Coregrafic—Oana Mureșan and Andra Handaric; guests from Linotip (Bucharest)—Ioana Marchidan and Arcadie Rusu; and French artist Alifeyini Mohamed – Lil’cé (Kazyadance). They will engage in a captivating dialogue, sharing their visions and experiences on the central theme of the festival: Common Rhythm.

A key part of the event will focus on the presentation of the participating artists. Each of them will share their unique artistic vision and how the Common Rhythm theme resonates in their work. The discussion will further explore ways to ensure that the diversity of voices and perspectives is not only accepted but celebrated and organically integrated into artistic events. How do we meet others through dance? Is the artist responsible for finding a common language? The participants will attempt to bring answers to these essential questions for any form of collaborative art.
