WORKSHOP
Open level – for professional adults
We invite you to a creative workshop designed for professional dancers and those with experience. Discover new dimensions of stage movement and choreographic interpretation in the "The Present Body" workshop led by Arcadie Rusu.
In the "The Present Body" workshop, we will explore dance and movement interpretation through an active participation process. We will start from simple gestures and transform them into choreographic forms, emphasizing the personal imprint of each dancer involved. In this session, I propose studying a choreographic structure that we will learn, analyze, personalize, and transform for each individual dancer. The structure will remain the same, but only the interpretation will change.
What interests me in this lab is the filter and uniqueness of each body, the experience in relation to movement, the original approach, and that "unique touch" that allows for playful freedom, maintains creativity in the present, and highlights the personality of each dancer. The workshop explores choreographic interpretation and its resonance by adapting to various challenges. – Arcadie Rusu
Arcadie Rusu is a choreographer, dancer, and manager of Linotip Independent Choreographic Center. He graduated from the Faculty of Choreography at UNATC Bucharest, was a danceWEB ImpulsTanz scholar in Vienna, a performer at the Venice Biennale of Art, and a dancer in Gigi Căciuleanu Romania Dance Company.
For over 20 years, Arcadie has danced, taught, and created performances both in Romania and on the international contemporary dance stage, including projects in collaboration with the English National Ballet in London and with “Battery Dance Company” in New York.
In 2016, he founded Linotip Independent Choreographic Center in the heart of the creative district, at Universul Palace, a place that hosts performances, dance workshops for professionals and beginners, as well as unique events alongside other creative people.
In 2017, Arcadie and the LINOTIP team were awarded by UNACOR with the Diploma of Excellence for creating the LINOTIP Independent Choreographic Center.
In 2019, the LINOTIP team was awarded at the AFCN gala for cultural entrepreneurship.
In 2020, the LINOTIP team received the UNITER award for the visibility brought to Contemporary Dance.
In 2022, Arcadie was awarded by CNDB for his contribution to the development of Contemporary Dance.
