OM - Transilvania International Dance Festival

Ever since its first edition, held in 2024, the OM Vision has started from the wish to look at the existing spaces of Cluj-Napoca in a new light, activating them through the presence of choreographic art and through its capacity to generate different discourses, reflections and dynamics. At the centre of this perspective lies the body and its multiple forms of manifestation.

The festival embraces diverse artistic practices, brought together by a contemporary perspective on dance. These practices reflect the present time, but, in this edition, they open in particular a dialogue with the past and with the way in which personal and collective memory continues to exist, to transform and to manifest itself in the present.

Thus, in this edition, the body also becomes a space of memory. We question what remains in the body of what has been, what is passed on without always being named, and the way in which the past continues to exist in the present through gesture, movement, practice and presence. We look at memory as a living process, one that transforms together with those who carry it and reactivate it.

Through this edition we honour, first and foremost, the Romanian choreographic and artistic space, building a bridge towards the heritage we have received and which we look at and reinterpret today. At the same time, we aim to open a dialogue as open and flexible as possible with the international scene, in an exchange based on shared values and on curiosity towards different artistic perspectives, contexts and practices.

OM remains a meeting place for people, ideas, cultures and communities that share similar sensibilities, and aims to build an open platform for contemporary art and, in particular, for contemporary dance, in a living relationship both with the city of Cluj-Napoca and with the international art scene.
